Loss of Suction
- 12/28/2019
The suction cup is the weak link. Will not stay on and keeps coming off. Otherwise, your standard 'Yak' light. I would NOT recommend. You can build your own for a forth of the price. See YouTube for kayak DIY Lights.

It has good suction but the light is covered by a hard white plastic cover so it seems to dull its impact. Came in a timely fashion well packaged and generally as described.

Product works well, light is not as bright as the ones purchased in store, though honestly it could have been because I was not careful enough in my ordering.Suction cup can be knocked off the kayak of you have dogs jumping in or out of your boat, though we were prepared and used the leash to tether to the kayak ahead of time. Would recommend.

Much shorter than the first one I bought last year. This was like the insert small one they give you in the bundle pack. They both cost the same so I thought it would be the same long kayak one. Nope this one is less than a 12 inch flash light

Bright 360 light but short. . .
- 10/29/2018
Very sturdy and it appears watertight to protect the batteries and two LEDs. The suction cup unscrews from the torch so I think I'm going to attach it to a wooden handle with some stainless steel screw clamps. . .and stick it in the fishing rod holders. Maybe a little pricey, but hopefully it will last!
Seems to work as designed, but needs extension

I just purchased this so I haven't been able to use it yet. It seems sturdy and the suction cup and light seem very good. I planned on putting it behind me on the stern of the kayak. The only issue I see so far is that it is too short to be seen if I am sitting in front of it facing ongoing water traffic. We are going to add some PVC to it to extend it so it can be seen above my head instead of behind my back only.

Bright

We purchased these for our kayaks and per nautical rules they must be on the front of the vessel. We had to move them to the back because they are SUPER bright. We could not see in front of us.Overall they are perfect for going out on the water at night! The light up everything around you and even into our salt water so we could seed the fish. They must be tied on because the suction cups don't hold for very long and they DO NOT float. We had read the other reviews about tying then and were glad we did when one came off while out.Great product. Very bright! Will buy again when we add the next kayak.
just what I needed

The perfect light for the kayak! slapped on the tail and off I went. No more fearing getting in after dark on a paddle or fooling with the head light.
Great little light

Seems like a great light. We are using it for our motorized dinghy. It stays in place well and seems sturdy. I really like the waterproof aspect although we haven't put that to the test yet.

Perfect. Used for MR340 and worked very well. Use a little lube on the suction cup or it comes loose (mounted to composite boat).
great light

This is a truly wonderful boat light design. It's very reliable, waterproof, and the suction cup is incredibly strong.

Worked perfectly. Stuck solid to the kayak for several hours. When mounted at the rear, it still provides enough light to help navigate around nearby objects.
Great little light

Great little light. Very visible durable and a good value. My wife dropped it in the lake and it still works great, so I bought 2 of them.

Nice Light, Good Suction Cup, LED lamp

I used this thing occasionally for several years. It sticks like glue on the smooth fiberglass deck of my recreational shell, but on my molded kayak I run a bungee around the hull for security. I like the light intensity too; it's not glaringly bright, but well visible from all directions. I haven't tested the water-tightness, but it seems as though it should be good. It switches on by rotating the lens section, which feels like it's pretty well sealed by O-rings, and leaves no penetrations in the housing like a switch would. Unfortunately I've lost it along with a bunch of rowing accessories, but I see they have a deluxe model now, which I'll buy to replace it. They say it's watertight to 3,000 feet, and it has a neat tie-down system.
kayak light works great

this is a bright light for night kayaking. it suctions to the stern of the boat easily although it sometimes releases so i would recommend tying it to the rigging before putting it on the boat so it doesn't fall overboard. i'm very happy with the quality and ease of use.
Definitely worth it

It stays put, and the illumination is great.

Great buy!

So this is the second one I have bought. That alone should be enough review. The first one sank to the bottom of a 60' trench because I didn't exercise the "tie everything to the yak" rule. This is a GREAT light! Bright enough to provide ambient light to see a short distance. But more than bright enough to supply the 2-mile visibility required on the water. I took the suction cup off and shoved it in a PVC tube (can't remember the size - .75 maybe?) so it would be 36" above the water. Easy operation- twist on, twist off, right from my kayak seat. I definitely recommend this light, not only to satisfy the regulatory requirements, but also because it is a benefit to night fishing. ??????????
