NEW! A brighter version of the Navlite, the first completely waterproof battery-operated running light set available anywhere. The Navlite XB is roughly twice as bright as its predecessor. This additional brightness provides improved visibility in high-traffic waterways and when competing with other marker lights in the area. The original Navlite is already top rated by kayak night paddlers and Crew teams and also works well on canoes, inflatable boats, windsurfers, wet subs, sunfish, or any small boat (Class A & I). The self-contained unit comes in a low-profile Cordura housing which stays out of the way of paddles and rigging, a big plus.

 

The Navlite™ XB offers versatile mounting options using bungee cords, line, or straps (not included)*. The Navlite™ XB is made of the finest corrosion-resistant materials and uses 2 separate 3 AA alkaline battery circuits for 50+ hours of operation. You'll never replace bulbs again because our LEDs last 10,000+ hours. The red/green lights offer simple twist-on switches and easy access for battery replacement. A matching stern light is also available.

* We recommend the addition of a lanyard line to prevent loss.

Solved the Problem

In the past 2 years I have gone through many of the options here on Amazon for running lights for my canoe, even including just flashlights with colored plastic over the front, but none of them worked well, and all died quickly. This is the first that has worked, and continues to work, with a faaaaaar longer battery life than any of the others as a nice addition. This Tektite Kayalu Navlite is easy to attach with some rope to the rigging of the bow on my tandem sit-in kayak, the lights are fairly bright and serve their purpose for illuminating the bow of the kayak for others vessels to see. Twisting the lenses to turn them on can become a bit finicky given that they move around a bit in the pouch, more so when in the water with the kayak bobbing around in the waves. I use this for whatever kayak I happen to be fishing from. It's a kinda quirky design and I rather like it. No switches to fail, simple operation, easy to attach. Parts are even available if you leave leaky batteries in it over the winter.
They appear like they will work wonderfully for night kayaking

I haven't put them on my boat yet, but they are very bright and come with batteries. They appear like they will work wonderfully for night kayaking.

I read some reviews before I purchased this Navlite. Some complained that it was cheaply made, I don't agree. When you consider other types of Navigation lights - they aren't cheap either, and then you have to figure out wiring, etc. Bottom line is this unit solves the problem of installing navigation lights on a kayak, such as mine, it's simple enough, and I can easily remove it and put it on another kayak. It's a good product and easily solves the problem. It works great, I like it.
