Dual purpose inflatable raft and kayak light
- 02/04/2013
Rather than purchase two separate lights, batteries, etc I purchased this excellent rugged light that can go from one craft to another. I like the fabric pouch shell as it provides many installation options so you'll be able to rig something up. My only wish is that turning on the lights was a bit easier. I would like to see water proof rubber push buttons on the rear end of the light housing that could be operated through the pouch.
Low-tech go-tech. Great lights, ingenuously simple holder

Lashed 'em on with a bungee. Rock and roll, no problem. Wet (of course) no problem. Bright and directional (as they should be). Soaked in a bucket of fresh water afterwards, dried in sun, and now back in the dry bag until needed again.Heartily recommend. You won't need to replace this (unless your bungee tying skills are sub standard--never checked to see if it floats....)
Great product

Great nav light, this is the second one we purchased, very sturdy and well built. We use them for our kayaks and also our sailboat
Super bright and easy to install.

Much brighter than I expected, installs in seconds. Small enough to store in the kayak so its always available. One of the best buys I've made in a long time.

Good unit, nice and bright, actually I'm using it on the front of a power boat. Pretty rugged.
Pretty cool design with long battery life

Pretty cool design with long battery life. I've seen a lot of different bow light setups for kayaks and canoes and this is probably the most reliable one I've seen.
Pricey, but very durable

I have no doubt that these lights will work when needed.

A nice portable light that is easy to mount on your kayak bow just using the Front Bungee system

-) batteries have lasted a good while, enjoying the night

I can legally motor around with my canoe at night now 🙂 batteries have lasted a good while, enjoying the night fishing
and I can easily remove it and put it on another kayak

I read some reviews before I purchased this Navlite. Some complained that it was cheaply made, I don't agree. When you consider other types of Navigation lights - they aren't cheap either, and then you have to figure out wiring, etc. Bottom line is this unit solves the problem of installing navigation lights on a kayak, such as mine, it's simple enough, and I can easily remove it and put it on another kayak. It's a good product and easily solves the problem. It works great, I like it.
They appear like they will work wonderfully for night kayaking
- 06/05/2018
I haven't put them on my boat yet, but they are very bright and come with batteries. They appear like they will work wonderfully for night kayaking.
Great light, quirky design.
- 12/28/2019
I use this for whatever kayak I happen to be fishing from. It's a kinda quirky design and I rather like it. No switches to fail, simple operation, easy to attach. Parts are even available if you leave leaky batteries in it over the winter.

Perfect for what I needed. Vessel ID at night.
Splendid kayak light - Waterproof and Bright
- 10/28/2020
This Tektite Kayalu Navlite is easy to attach with some rope to the rigging of the bow on my tandem sit-in kayak, the lights are fairly bright and serve their purpose for illuminating the bow of the kayak for others vessels to see. Twisting the lenses to turn them on can become a bit finicky given that they move around a bit in the pouch, more so when in the water with the kayak bobbing around in the waves. But it is a very good design for being battery operated, my requirements being first and foremost they be water-proof and second that they be bright- of which this light fits those requirements perfectly. Given I kayak in somewhat congest waterways along the coast I found this light to be very beneficial in tandem with my Kayalu Kayalite.

Night Kayaking a reality!
- 07/23/2013
This is a great product for those wanting an extra measure of safety while doing some night Kayaking. I live off the shore of Lake Erie and even with the required steady white light (Have the stern light from this manufacturer) per USCG I feel a lot better letting the other boaters not only to see me, but know my point of direction/orientation. These NAV lights are super bright and with the pouch design the light(s) do not interfere with my night vision. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the pouch and light design. I my humble opinion this can be streamlined further. But I would recommend this night system highly.

Great product but the enclosure could use some work. Design does not hold the lights securely.
Nice lights but you probably can make something equivalent or better yourself for 1/4th the cost

Bought these for an Old Town Guide 14'7"" canoe for night fishing on a large lake with heavy recreational boat traffic, even at night. The lights could be a little brighter but should keep you visible enough to be safe. They do tend to dim noticeably after the first full night of use, then light output is about the same the next 20-30 hours. I've just been changing batteries after that. The design with 2 tubes inside a pouch is a little unusual but it works. My only complaint is that it can be difficult to twist the head of each light to turn it off/on because the entire light will twist inside the sheeth. Makes it a 2-hand process, which can be tricky reaching out to the tip of a bow over gear in a canoe possibly in the semi dark, wind and waves. Attaching it to your canoe/kayak is fairly easy to figure out. I tied it to the handle with paracord.Overall, they look nice and I like them but they're pretty much just 2 flashlights with colored lenses inside a pouch, and you can probably improvise something similar yourself for a lot cheaper.
Fits the bill!

As I live on a river, I often take my kayak out in the evenings. I was looking for some sort of navigation lights that would make me a little more visible to other boaters, so I bought this light and the Kayalu Kayalite Kayak Light. They seem to fit the bill. The lights are nice and bright. I like the fact that they are waterproof. They are easy to install and store. I am not, however, totally enamored with the case, hence the 4 stars. The weekend after I got it, I took it apart to see how to maintain it. Though I thought it was fairly simple, I had some trouble getting everything back in the case like I received it, and the accompanying instructions were of little help. On a very positive note, I emailed (included my phone number) the manufacturer on a Sunday to see if they could provide some direction. Much to my surprise, I got a call from the company owner, who walked me through getting it back the way I received it. Now that's service!
Solved the Problem
- 06/16/2021
In the past 2 years I have gone through many of the options here on Amazon for running lights for my canoe, even including just flashlights with colored plastic over the front, but none of them worked well, and all died quickly. This is the first that has worked, and continues to work, with a faaaaaar longer battery life than any of the others as a nice addition. I also got the rear running light from the same company, and it's great too.Edit 9/2/21: After several months the AA batteries finally gave out, so I went to replace them and, just like the stern running light from the same company, I found that rechargeable batteries will not fit in this device, and if you try to put them in, they jam and it's very hard to get them out again. I have deducted one star for not being useable with rechargeable batteries.
Bigger than it looks, works well
- 09/28/2014
Works fine for light, but photo is deceptive. Overall length is about a foot and width is probably 5 in. This thing is big,My main issues with this are size related and not functional. As long as you are OK with the size, it seems well made and would work well.
